The Hunting of the Fox is a traditional competition that goes back to 1972, when some students of an equestrian school were invited to the San Vicente Ranch of Police, in Quito (Pichincha). The first Hunt occurred in the mountainous spaces of the land and the Avenida de la Prensa in Quito. The first Fox that was caught in this competition was the French André Oviol, who was based in Ecuador; and the first winner was Hugo Serrano, the leader of the group of equestrian students.
